A striking Breastplate handcrafted from the most vibrant piece of Kawakawa Greenstone. The large notches either side of the carving are an added point of interest.
Kouma- Breastplate signifies strength and protection in battle. Today they still hold this symbolism but more as a representative scale.
Kawakawa - is the most common variety of Pounamu. it comes in many shades - from strong, rich green to dark green - and often has small dark flecks, which add to its character. Named after the leaf of the Kawakawa. It is the main type used in gem purposes.
