A magnificent piece of craftmanship, Deer Antler, Kawakawa pounamu and Steel Knife. The blade is crafted from hand forged Steel and the handle is Brass, Red Deer Antler, and Kawakawa Pounamu. The knife being beautifully displayed, resting on Red Deer Antler mounted on Rimu . A stunning sculpture that is functional as well and will be a loved taonga.
Knife Handle- Kawakawa- is the most common variety of Pounamu. it comes in many shades - from strong, rich green to dark green - and often has small dark flecks, which add to its character. Named after the leaf of the Kawakawa. It is the main type used in gem purposes.
Red Deer Antler- The Red Deer ( Cervus elaphus ) is one of the largest deer species. A male red deer is called a stag or hart, and a female is called a doe or hind.

Base- Rimu is a dense native timber of NZ. It is deep reddish brown in colour and is strong and durable. A stunning timber - one of the most beautiful in the world with a fine textured grain.
