Matau/Fishhook - Originally Māori have been fishermen. Their main food source was the sea, so a fishhook of high quality was an unbelievably valuable item to own. The hook became a symbol of prosperity, abundance, good health, power, authority and respect for the sea and its life in it. They also provide good luck and safety while travelling across water.
Sculpture - Rhodonite- a wonderful pink coloured mineral of manganese found South of Akatore Creek, Otago. This mineral has long been sort after by rockhounds and others for carving & jewellery making. A powerful healing stone for relationships, the Rhodonite crystal encourages clear communication, the lifeline for a strong and healthy union. Its energy opens the heart up to emotional healing.
