A Stunning notched Toki handcrafted from an exceptional piece of Auhunga Pounamu. The depth of colour and finish on this piece are simply amazing. An incredible carving showing the true beauty of the stone.

The Toki (Adze) – The Toki had much meaning for the Maori, fashioned from stone or greenstone it was an essential tool for survival and day to day life for the Maori. That is the reason Maori attribute the spiritual meaning of strength and power to the Toki. This symbol resembles determination, control, strength, focus and honour.

Genuine West Coast Auhunga Greenstone from the Arahura River area, West Coast. Auhunga Pounamu is a pale opaque green colour. Resembling the Southern New Zealand mountains, its --name translates to frosty, given as the intermediate of Inanga and Kawakawa.
