A gorgeous Toki handcrafted from a stunning piece of Kokopu Flower Pounamu. This exceptional Toki carving is the perfect taonga when you are wanting something that is just that wee bit different and unique. An incredible sculpture showcasing the true beauty of the Pounamu, and displayed on a simple wooden stand, creating an incredible show piece. We have lashed this wonderful Toki in classic black binding so it can also be worn, what a fabulous taonga.

Toki- Adze – The Toki had much meaning for the Māori, fashioned from stone or greenstone it was an essential tool for survival and day to day life for the Māori. That is the reason Māori attribute the spiritual meaning of strength and power to the Toki. This symbol represents Mana, determination, control, strength, focus and honour.

Kokopu- Greenstone from the West Coast Taramakau River area, West Coast. Comes in many colour variations from light to dark browns, creamy whites, light blues, olive greens to yellow even golden. Also known as trout-stone named after the dark brown, olive green and yellowish markings found on the three species of native freshwater trout. The spotted textures and range of colour give this stone a diverse presence.

Putiputi (Flower) Jade- is New Zealand’s most prized Greenstone, with pale green or ochre clouds of colour. This distinctive patterning and colouring come from the outside rim or 'rind' of the greenstone boulders or stones where the surface has oxidised.
