A handsome Toki handcrafted from a wonderful piece of Raukaraka Pounamu. Swirling shades of dark and light green are interrupted by a dramatic bolt of rust, creating a stunning pattern. A cherished Taonga that will become a great conversational piece.
Toki/Adze – The Toki had much meaning for the Māori, fashioned from stone or greenstone it was an essential tool for survival and day to day life for the Māori. That is the reason Māori attribute the spiritual meaning of strength and power to the Toki. This symbol represents Mana, determination, control, strength, focus and honour.
Raukaraka- Genuine West Coast Greenstone from the Taramakau River Area. This is the term used by Māori of the Cook Strait region of the Kawakawa variety that is streaked with a shade of olive green and has yellow and orange hues that blend into the greens. This stone shares its name with the New Zealand native Karaka tree.
