Moko Pounamu Toki NZ Genuine Raukaraka Greenstone - Tuakau
A handsome Toki handcrafted from a wonderful piece of Raukaraka Pounamu. The pattern and textures in this stone are beautiful, taken more towards the rind of the stone, it displays earthy ochre colours.
Toki(Adze) – The Toki had much meaning for the Maori, fashioned from stone or greenstone it was an essential tool for survival and day to day life for the Maori. That is the reason Maori attribute the spiritual meaning of strength and power to the Toki. This symbol resembles determination, control, strength, focus and honour.
Raukaraka- Genuine West Coast Greenstone from the Taramakau River Area. This is the term used by the Māori of the Cook Strait region of the Kawakawa variety that is streaked with a shade of olive green and has yellow and orange hues that blend into the greens. This stone shares its name with the New Zealand native Karaka tree.
